About the basic traffic course
The next course will be held in August.

Basic traffic course
If you are under 25 years you must complete a Basic traffic course before you are allowed to practice driving. Both private and at a driving school.
In the winter periode, November 1st – March 15th, you also need to complete the course: Road user in the dark (night driving course) that will be included in the Basic traffic course.
In summertime you can complete all training, and pass the driving exam without the Road user in the dark (night driving course). But you must then complete the course at a driving school before 1st of February the following year.

About road users in the dark (night driving course)
When you have completed the Basic Traffic Course, included Road user in the dark (night driving course) you will be issued a learner’s permit (provisional driving licence) which gives you the right to practise driving. This provisional driving licence can be provided as an app, but is only valid in Norway.
There is no time limit to the validity of your learner’s permit.

About the night driving course
The course is a combination of theory and demonstrations – partly in classroom / in the car/ and also outdoor (20 min). Therefore please dress according to the weather.
The instructor will do the driving.
Invoice will be sent after course is completed.
Road-user in the dark (Night Driving)
The course is mandatory for everyone who is taking the driving license in Norway.
If you are under 25 years old, the course is included in the basic traffic course in the
winter periode.
It is a theory course with a combination of theory in classroom and demonstrations in the
car plus outdoor. The instructor will do the driving.
And please note: 20 min will be demonstrations will be outdoors – Dress according to the
weather.

NOTE:
A – Winter time 01.november – 15.march
It is required to complete the course, at the latest 3 days before the final driving test.
B – Summer time. 16 March – 31 October
If you pass the final driving test in this period your licence will be valid until February 1st
the following year. You will have to complete the course before this date at an approved
driving school. You will find the expiring-date on on your license.
You can practice driving during the summer period. Also the following years.

About the first aid course

The first aid course is mandatory for everyone who is going to get a driving license in Norway.
If you are under 25 years old, the course is included in the basic traffic course.
The course duration is 4 lessons of 45 minutes each.
Step 1.5 and 1.6
In addition to this theory course, you must have the theory course “Road user I the Dark”
Step 1.7
All mandatory courses must be completed at the latest 3 days before the final driving test.

These courses are based on an individual approach and for this reason there are no fixed times.
